Apple Announces new iMac with M4 Chip

Apple has introduced a new iMac featuring the M4 chip, with a starting price of $1,299. Customers can place orders now, ahead of its launch on November 8.

The Mac segment is a significant part of Apple’s business, although overshadowed by the iPhone. In the last quarter, Apple reported $7 billion in Mac sales, which represents a 2% increase from the previous year.

Unlike the iPhone, where only models from the last two years support Apple Intelligence, all Macs with the M1 chip or newer, released since 2020, can utilise the company’s artificial intelligence features. Apple is promoting the latest Macs with an emphasis on AI to generate interest in the product.

Apple Intelligence enables users to rewrite, proofread, or summarise text. For instance, users can highlight an email’s content and make it sound more professional or concise with this feature. Additionally, users can interact with Siri using text, which now provides enhanced information about Apple products. In December, Apple plans to unveil an updated version of Apple Intelligence that will integrate OpenAI’s ChatGPT into writing tools and Siri.
