Apple Becomes the Favourite Tech Fruit Again & Google Anthropic Deal
Best Investment Right Now
Apple stock just hit a record high (up nearly 4%) as the iPhone 17 outpaced the iPhone 16 sales in both the US and China by 14%. With strong demand and better chips, consumers are calling it “value-for-money,” and Wall Street seems to agree.
Apple has a robust $50 billion in cash reserves and short-term investments and constantly invests money in further tech and AI innovation, research, and new products, such as the new AI-enhanced Siri.
Apple still hasn’t rolled out its AI-enhanced Siri, while Google and Samsung are already ahead. If Siri actually becomes the best AI assistant, smarter than Google or Samsung, what could that do to the market and investors’ confidence in Apple?
AI is driving everything, and Apple can take advantage of the massive increase in the use of AI. The stock price is high but could possibly continue climbing in this current AI-friendly market.
Apple is historically a stable company with good practices and solid returns over the years, and could help diversify a long-term portfolio.
Google and Anthropic announced a massive cloud deal worth tens of billions. Alphabet’s Google will supply up to a million specialised AI chips to AI start-up Anthropic.
This deal allows Anthropic more computing capacity and bolsters Google as a major investor and key infrastructure provider in the race to power larger AI models. Google’s TPUs (tensor processing units) are custom-designed chips that accelerate machine learning workloads and are scheduled to be deployed in 2026.
This deal is one of the largest in the AI hardware arms race that requires immense computing power to train and run large language models. It allows Anthropic to gain access to one of the most advanced chip infrastructures outside of Nvidia’s offering. Google is the third biggest cloud provider after Amazon and Microsoft.
Anthropic relies on both Google and Amazon for its cloud services to train and deploy its Claude family of large language models.
AI is booming, and Anthropic appears to be instilling confidence in big tech investors as the race for AI dominance intensifies.
