SoftBank bolsters AI growth and Art for a new generation
SoftBank has raised around $1.86 billion as it expands into AI. CEO Son, stated that the funds will be used to curb debt and fund operations. Bond investors have been channelling money into SoftBank in anticipation of the future growth potential of artificial intelligence. This year, SoftBank invested $200 million in start-up Tempus AI Inc., which specialises in medical data analysis for doctors and patients to better diagnose and treat patients.
Younger generations are increasingly turning to art as an investment. Digital art, including AI-generated work, is on the rise, as is auction-bought art. Stats show a significant increase in art sales, especially amongst Asian Gen X and Millennial collectors, with Gen Z not far behind. Is art becoming a new sector in which to invest?
