Tesla has Best Day in a Decade & Sanofi Gets an Early Start
Tesla stock soared 22% on Thursday after an optimistic earnings report of $25.18 billion. This comes after Tesla launched its self-drive cyber truck and robotaxi earlier this month. Tesla predicts a 20-30% growth in vehicle sales next year, especially with its cheaper, under $30,000 Model Y. Profits were also boosted by $739 million in revenue for environmental regulatory credits. It seems Tesla has bounced back after a rocky year.
The healthcare sector does not disappoint as French pharmaceutical company Sanofi posted more robust earnings with a 14.4% increase to $5 billion, mainly due to an early start to the vaccination season. Sanofi, one of the largest vaccine makers by sales, received prescriptions for flu shots earlier than expected as the flu season started early this year, along with Beyfortus, a new treatment to protect newborns from a common respiratory virus.
