Market volatility has become the norm for investors as many have already factored in Trump’s antics. Volatility will continue as the markets await the next step in the Trump vs Trade court dance. The repercussions of the tariffs and the US’s dangerously rising debt will still affect markets globally over the long term.
“Markets have moved on. What they’re starting to price now is the risk that the US government loses control of its borrowing costs. That’s the real crisis…… There are, however, incredible opportunities, and diversification is definitely the way to go. Look towards good quality stocks like AI-related tech, for example, gold is up over 26% and structured notes offer returns, even in a flat market.” deVere CEO, Nigel Green.
Diversification is still the best hedge against market volatility, and investors should continue to Trump-proof their portfolios by moving assets into a variety of sectors, asset classes and economic regions.
Nvidia has done it again with better-than-expected Q1 earnings. Stock prices rose 5% after the news.
The AI hardware giant reported $44.1 billion in profits above the predicted 43.3 billion. This is higher than last year, this time at $26 billion. Despite setbacks due to the trade tariff war with China, Nvidia remains resilient and in global demand as the need for AI chips increases. This comes as Nvidia has taken an $8 billion hit because of export rules and bans on shipments to China.
Meta, Microsoft and Amazon are still some of Nvidia’s biggest clients as the need for AI powered computing grows.
