With the change in government pending after US troops seized its dictator, Maduro, Venezuela is on the verge of opening up its economy to the world again.
As quoted by CBS News and Investing.com, deVere CEO Nigel Green comments, “Venezuela is moving rapidly from the margins of global investment thinking toward the centre of it. After years of isolation, capital controls, and institutional collapse, the country is now being assessed through a different lens. Political change, the prospect of economic reintegration, and the sheer scale of asset dislocation are converging in a way that demands attention from serious investors.”
Venezuela has much to offer the world, boasting the largest oil reserves globally, more gold reserves than Africa, and substantial gas supplies. Closed off from the world for many years, the South American country has the potential to be a high-flying emerging market, and investors are already looking to the markets for potential investment opportunities.
With geopolitics now a main influencer in global investing, it is vital now more than ever to look for robust investing opportunities, but remain diversified over different regions, sectors and asset classes.
Joby Aviation has bought a 700,000 square foot manufacturing facility in Ohio to double its production of its eVTOLs (electric vertical take-off and landing aircrafts). The air taxi maker paid $61.5 million for the facility. This comes as Joby Aviation is making a push for FAA certification this year.
The air taxi maker is hoping to double its production to four aircraft a month by 2027. Joby CEO JoeBen Bevirt said the facility will support future growth plans and tie into efforts to revitalise the commercial and defence aerospace industries on U.S. soil.
It seems we might be able to exchange peak-hour traffic for an air taxi to get to work soon.
